Bid Cap

A Meta bid strategy that sets a hard maximum on how much the algorithm can bid in each auction.

Bid Cap is a Meta bid strategy that sets a hard maximum on what the algorithm can bid in each auction. It is control, not discovery: powerful once you know your economics, and dangerous before you do, because too low a cap simply stops delivery.

Use Bid Cap only after you know your real CPA on a GEO and offer, never at launch. A mix works best: run part of your ad sets on Cost Cap and part on lowest-cost or a different cap. The gap deliberately provokes the algorithm into different auctions, and you see which approach catches on your GEO and offer.

We know EU CPA cold now, so cap the bid at $180 on the scaling sets — but keep two on lowest-cost to keep finding cheap pockets.
