VDS

Virtual Dedicated Server — hosting used to run trackers, cloakers and landing infrastructure.

A VDS, or Virtual Dedicated Server, is hosting with dedicated allocated resources used to run the infrastructure behind a campaign — self-hosted trackers like Keitaro, cloakers, TDS logic and landing pages. Unlike shared hosting it guarantees CPU and memory, and unlike a physical server it's provisioned virtually, giving buyers control, privacy and the ability to place infrastructure in a chosen geo.

Buyers pick a VDS by location and specs to keep latency low near their traffic and to keep tracking data off third-party platforms. The pitfalls are operational: an underpowered VDS drops clicks under load, a flagged or blacklisted IP kills deliverability, and neglected server maintenance causes silent downtime. Keep spare IPs ready and monitor server load, because a redirect that times out is spend wasted.

In buyer speech

Spin up a VDS closer to the geo — our Keitaro redirects are lagging and we're losing clicks on the hop.
