The angle prioritizes the click over accurate expectation-setting, pulling in broad, emotionally triggered traffic at very low cost per click.
Buyers use clickbait angles to crush CPMs and feed cheap top-of-funnel volume, especially on native and teaser networks where the format is the norm. The trade-off is intent quality: click-through rates soar while conversion rates sink, so the angle only wins when the pre-lander can convert curiosity into genuine interest. It also draws platform moderation heat, and on stricter platforms a clickbait creative is often the difference between passing and failing review.
