Teaser

A teaser ad — a short, curiosity-driven creative unit typical of native ad networks.

A teaser is a short, curiosity-driven creative unit — typically a small provocative image plus an intriguing headline — that is the standard format of native and teaser ad networks. It deliberately withholds the full story to provoke the click, which is why teaser networks historically powered nutra, celebrity-angle and shock-style advertorial funnels.

Buyers live and die on teaser CTR because native networks price and rank inventory by engagement: a stronger teaser literally buys cheaper clicks. The craft is pairing curiosity with enough relevance that the pre-lander doesn't face a betrayed visitor. Teasers burn out fast, so production works in batches — dozens of image-headline combinations tested weekly, with the winners cloned into variations before fatigue kills them.
