Webmaster
A website/traffic owner who monetizes their audience through affiliate offers.
A webmaster is a website or traffic owner who monetizes their own audience through affiliate offers — placing links, banners or reviews on properties they control and earning commission on the conversions that traffic produces. In affiliate-network vocabulary, especially in CIS markets, 'webmaster' is used broadly for any partner supplying traffic, whether from SEO sites, apps or paid sources.
For media buyers the distinction matters when reading network terms: many programs list conditions 'for webmasters,' meaning the traffic-supplying side, as opposed to the advertiser. SEO webmasters bring stable, high-intent volume that advertisers prize, so they often negotiate better payouts than paid-traffic partners. The pitfall is dependency on a single ranking or platform — one algorithm update can erase the entire revenue stream.
In buyer speech
“That casino review site belongs to a webmaster we've worked with for years — his SEO traffic converts at double our paid numbers.”
