ComeBacker
A campaign specifically re-targeting users who already visited the site once.
A ComeBacker is a campaign or funnel mechanic that specifically re-targets users who already visited the site once — bringing back people who saw the offer but left without converting. The term covers both re-engagement ad campaigns and on-site scripts that fire return-oriented messages, exit popups or push re-sends at previous visitors.
Buyers deploy ComeBackers because a warm visitor is far cheaper to convert than a cold click already paid for: typical implementations are push re-sends to prior clickers, retargeting audiences with a sweeter bonus, or exit-intent offers on the lander itself. Message escalation is the craft — the returning user already refused the first pitch, so the ComeBacker needs a new angle or richer incentive, not the same creative again.
In buyer speech
“Set up a ComeBacker on everyone who hit the lander but didn't register — push them the doubled bonus angle after 24 hours.”
