Acquiring

Payment card acquiring — the infrastructure that processes card payments for a merchant.

Acquiring is the merchant side of card processing — the bank or payment provider that accepts card payments on behalf of a business, routes them through the card networks, and settles funds to the merchant's account. Without an acquiring relationship, a product simply cannot take Visa or Mastercard payments, which makes it the load-bearing infrastructure under any offer with a card cashier.

In iGaming and nutra, acquiring is a scarce, fragile resource: banks classify these verticals as high-risk, charge premium rates, and pull the plug when chargeback ratios spike. When an advertiser 'loses acquiring' in a GEO, deposit conversion collapses overnight through no fault of your traffic — so when Reg2Dep tanks suddenly, ask about payment processing before you blame your funnel.

In buyer speech

Reg2Dep dropped off a cliff Tuesday — advertiser admitted their acquiring in Brazil went down, so pause spend until they swap processors.
