Billing
Billing and payment processing infrastructure for a product or offer.
Billing is the payment-processing layer of a product or offer — everything involved in charging the customer: the cashier or checkout, payment gateways, card processing, retry logic, and recurring-charge management. It also names the payment section of an ad account, where cards are attached and spend is invoiced.
Buyers deal with billing on both ends of the funnel. On the traffic side, 'billing' problems mean cards failing to bind or ad accounts suspended over payment risk. On the offer side, billing quality directly sets your numbers: a cashier with poor local payment methods or aggressive declines suppresses deposit conversion, and on trial-rebill offers the billing engine's retry and chargeback handling determines whether the advertiser stays solvent enough to pay you.
In buyer speech
“Half the drop-off is at their billing step — local cards keep declining, so ask the advertiser if they support the popular e-wallet there.”
